The Dancing Sun was the debut album by the much respected Dark Folk band Orchis,and was originally released via World Serpent in 1994 on the band's own cryptanthus label. When we decided to make this available again we did think of digitally enhancing the original recordings, but decided that would detract considerably from their charm. So here it is, in all it's 4 track analogue glory...

Excellent medieval folk, IGR, & those with ears to hear. I love the sense of mysticism and deep, introspective ponder this album conveys, & the honest down-to-earth folky lyrics. Simply wonderful yet soulfully rich. Highlights for me are tracks 2, 5, 6, & 12. IGR truly capture what I feel is an authentic sense of a medieval bard at a woodland rill pondering the mysteries of life. Highly recommended. 8.5+/10. Alrihkh

I first heard of IGR from his appearance on Faun's live CD from the 2007 Pagan Folk Festival tour. This is simple yet symbolic, sweet- sounding and quite sincere. And likely the only pentagram-shaped record I'm likely to see...a great-looking item with the pictures and fabric bag! Scott
